Play! by Sephora Subscription Service
Pricing the subscription at $10 for five products a month, has Sephora attempting to position itself against its major competitors Birchbox and Ipsy. Birchbox maybe the top rated subscription, but Sephora has the upper hand of being owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, already having international locations, and its rewards program for its loyal customers, which I am a member of. I am sure the retailer should see success in this venture.
Play! by Sephora will launch in a limited marketing campaign in select cities this September before its nationwide debut in 2016. The subscription service will offer five "full-size" prestige products a month based on a theme like essentials or dewy skin, delivered to the customer's door, often with sample-size items and Spotify playlists. With benefits like this, beauty lovers everywhere will have the option of more than one subscription service.
Sephora will have a way to go to toppling Birchbox off the top spot, but Play! by Sephora at $10 a month, and you can get the best of Sephora at your door, I think this venture is definitely heading in the right direction for claiming the throne.
